Business and practice-management training is optional supplemental education. It is not part of the 24-hour professional-provider training and does not replace any qualification, background check, registration, insurance, court, agency, or local requirement that may apply to a provider or business.
Separate Bridging Families Resource
The Bridging Families Provider Directory is a separate website for locating professional supervised visitation and exchange providers. The Academy provides education and training; the Provider Directory provides public provider listings. The two sites remain separate and serve different functions.
The Academy’s 24-hour professional-provider program is grounded in California Family Code section 3200.5 and Judicial Council Standard 5.20, including the 2026 provisions addressing exchange services and safety considerations for supervised virtual visitation.
California requires 24 total training hours, including at least 12 hours of classroom instruction. The Academy program totals 24 hours: 12 verified live instructor-led classroom hours and 12 guided self-paced hours. Live credit is tracked by actual instructional time; meal periods and scheduled breaks are excluded.
A scheduled Academy cohort may include in-classroom and live virtual participants at the same time. Both attendance options receive the same instructor, curriculum, instructional hours, activities, scenarios, assessments, and completion requirements.

The Academy may conduct one live instructor-led class with participants attending in person and through the live virtual classroom simultaneously. Attendance modality does not change the curriculum, credited instructional hours, assessment standard, or Certificate of Completion requirements.
Participants must complete the 12-hour self-paced component and submit all required completion certificates, assignments, and supporting documentation during check-in before the first live class starts. Incomplete or late documentation receives no credit for the self-paced component and the participant is not eligible for the final 24-hour Certificate of Completion for that cohort.
